flexible connectors

connectors, flexible
Is anyone experiencing problems with stainless steel flexible connectors failing?  If so what type?  All steel fire rated?  Some types more than others?

Yes we have had several fail in the last year or so. I does not seem to be any specific type or brand but more about the amount of time that they have been in service. After two or three years we are seeing seeping and failure of periodic line tests on the Veeder Root.

One thing some installers may not know is that a flex connector without a swivel is only for use bending in one plane.  Flex connectors are also often stretched too far during installation.

granted the swivel end on the flex helps in installation, but we have seen failures (leaks) in the swivel fitting upon installation during air testing.  if they leak then, it does not provide confidence against future failures at that point.
